Get Sutton quote0203 576 6961 Last updated 30 April 2026 Sutton is one of the strongest areas in South London for home EV charging — most properties have off-street parking, supplies are generally healthy, and UK Power Networks has good coverage. We've installed across the whole borough, from Sutton High Street flats to family homes in Cheam, Carshalton and Belmont. ## What you get for the install price A complete, certified install — not just a charger bolted to a wall. Specifically: - Free pre-install survey (in person or by photo) to check supply and earthing - OZEV-approved hardware (Ohme, Hypervolt, Wallbox, Zappi, EO, Pod Point — your choice) - Dedicated 32A circuit with the correct RCD/RCBO type for EV use - Cable run via the most discreet route possible (loft, sub-floor, or external) - Earth-rod-less installation where compatible (saves digging your garden) - DNO notification to UK Power Networks - Smart-tariff configuration (Octopus Intelligent Go, OVO Charge Anytime, etc.) - Manufacturer warranty registration and full electrical certification ## Sutton EV charger pricing - Standard install (charger within 5m of consumer unit) — £810–£1,050 - Mid-distance install (5–15m, e.g. front of house to driveway) — £1,050–£1,400 - Premium smart-tariff install (Ohme + EV Ultra cable) — £1,150–£1,725 - With consumer unit upgrade — add £640–£980 ## Sutton postcodes covered SM1 (Sutton, Rose Hill), SM2 (Belmont, Cheam, South Cheam), SM3 (West Cheam, Worcester Park borders), SM4 (Morden, St Helier — bordering Mitcham), SM5 (Carshalton, Carshalton Beeches, Wallington borders), SM6 (Wallington, Hackbridge), SM7 (Banstead — bordering Surrey). ## What's specific about Sutton installs Two things come up regularly. First, a lot of Sutton properties have PME (TN-C-S) earthing — which means we need either an earth-rod-less charger with built-in PEN protection or an additional earth electrode in the garden. We default to PEN-protected chargers because it avoids digging. Second, 1930s semis across Cheam and Belmont often have older 60A main fuses, which can need an upgrade request to UK Power Networks before a 7kW charger goes in. We handle that for you. ## OZEV grant in Sutton Renters and flat-owners across SM1–SM7 may still claim up to £350 from the EV chargepoint grant. Owner-occupiers of houses no longer qualify, but workplace and rental tenant grants are very much alive. We're an OZEV-approved installer so the grant is applied as a discount on your invoice — no chasing reimbursement. ## Smart tariffs that actually work with our installs Charging on a flat 28p/kWh tariff makes EVs expensive. Charging at 7p/kWh on Octopus Intelligent Go or similar pays the install back in under two years for an average commuter. We configure the charger with your tariff during commissioning and check the schedules are working before we leave. ## Related services - Full EV charger service — all brands and options - Consumer unit upgrades — common pre-requisite - Electrician in Sutton — all our Sutton electrical services - EV charger home installation guide ## Get a Sutton EV charger quote Free supply check.
